Rick & Associates is now in Almonte!
Rick & Associates is pleased to announce that effective October 1, they will assume the practices of Douglas Buchmayer and Pat Galway at 359 Ottawa Street, Almonte (telephone 613.256.3480). For many years, Mr. Galway was an important feature of the Almonte community as a respected lawyer and advisor. After his retirement, his practice was assumed by Douglas Buchmayer, a highly-respected Ottawa-area wills and estates specialist. Douglas has accepted a position in the Ottawa office of one of Canada’s largest and best-known law firms. We wish Douglas the best of success in his new position and look forward to continuing our relationship with him for his expertise in estates and tax planning.
We are also delighted to welcome Heather Metcalfe and Bonnie McCurdy to Rick & Associates. Heather and Bonnie are well-known Almonte residents who between them have years of experience in the legal field. We look forward to having both Heather and Bonnie as part of our team providing common-sense, cost effective legal advice in the areas of real estate, business law and wills and estates to the residents of Almonte / Mississippi Mills.
Christine Thomas and Lindsay McIntosh have joined Rick & Associates!
Effective February 1, 2010 Christine Thomas joined the firm as an associate lawyer. After her call to the Bar in 1995, Christine was an associate lawyer with one of Canada’s largest law firms before acting as a 
Technology Law and Licensing Counsel to Nortel. Christine and her family are long-time residents of Kanata and are well known in our local community.
Lindsay McIntosh is a Kanata native and graduate of the Universities of Western Ontario and Ottawa. Lindsay articled with Rick & Associates during 2009 and we are delighted that she chose to continue with us as an associate lawyer following her call to the Bar in January, 2010. Lindsay is also well known in our community through her involvement in amateur sports (she plays a mean game of field hockey!).
We are delighted to announce that Donna Drain has returned to Rick & Associates as a senior legal assistant (real estate) following her recent maternity leave. Particularly relieved that Donna will be back to assist them with their workload are our law clerks Kimberley Coleman, Julie Snider and Natasha Peterson. Kimberley, Julie and Natasha were instrumental in making sure that work got done while Donna was away and all of us at Rick & Associates owe them a huge “thank you” for their efforts above and beyond the call of duty. To prepare for Donna’s return, we have purchased a new vacuum cleaner so that we can clean up the odd batch of Cheerios which find their way into her files from time to time courtesy of her children Xavier and Arial!
